This 6th edition of CSS Day in Amsterdam will include an entire day dedicated to UX on the Web, followed by our regular advanced CSS conference on Friday. Our attendees have been working with CSS for years and they know it inside-out. So we always ask our speakers to treat the really geeky CSS stuff – and that’s what you’ll get. Combine this with the UX side of things and learn what web browsers can do for your users today, together with 350 other developers and designers!
What’s the best way to learn? By observing designers and developers working live. For our new conference in Toronto, all speakers aren’t allowed to use any slides at all. Welcome SmashingConf #noslides, a brand new conference in Toronto, full of interactive live sessions, showing how web designers design and how web developers build — including setup, workflow, design thinking, naming conventions and everything in-between.
Get hands-on running design sprints! Learn how to run your own design sprint in our masterclass.
Do you want to develop a new product or service? Or are you looking to improve an existing product? A design sprint might just be what you need. This method allows you to look into the future and learn how your customers respond to new ideas before spending large amounts of time and money.
During our masterclass “Usability testing? Just do it!” we teach you how to set up your own usability test cycle. At Hike One, we developed our own method on how to set up a usability test with maximum impact, but minimal investment.
Testing your product frequently with real users simply makes it better. It helps to verify your ideas, it gives you user insights, and it helps you gather facts instead of opinions - which is great to avoid stakeholder discussions.
If you like, you can go to a UX meetup, workshop or conference almost everyday. Ok, you need some cash and time to actually do this, but you can.
At a certain point, we at UNITiD lost track of all the events that were taking place. We decided it was time to create an event calendar that displays all events that we could attend. We decided we make this calendar public, as this might also be useful for other designers, companies or clients.
So, to sum it up:
This calendar shows events that interest interaction- and visual designers. More specifically, designers who work in the Netherlands, Amsterdam or The Hague, for the company UNITiD.
Everyone can use this calendar
If you like to add an event, feel free to let us know, but we only publish what is interesting for us.
