Philips has won a staggering amount of 22 red dot awards this year but the Wake-up Light was awarded the most prestigious one, the red dot best of the best.
The lamp is available in three models. The most advanced model can easily be controlled with your iPhone or iPod. And you guessed it; we were responsible for the interface design of the controller application and we’re of course very proud of the end result.
The Philips Wake-up Light has been gradually waking people since 2006 using natural light and sound. This year the product has received a significant update. A new organic form, an innovative user interface and a high-end finishing.
The design team at Philips was inspired by the sun when they redesigned the previous lamp-shaped Wake-Up Light. The new lamp is more round, smaller and will will take up less space on your nightstand with it’s smaller footprint. In addition to the new elegant design the light has been giving a lot of attention as well. The lamp simulates the color of the rising sun. Gradually the light changes from a soft morning red to a warm bright daytime yellow. The unique combination of light, colour and sound will wake you in a natural way, preparing you for the upcoming day.
The sunrise can easily be fine-tuned on your iPhone. As is the sunset for when you go to sleep.
